Logistics Management is the part of supply chain management that plans, implements, and controls the efficient, effective forward and reverse flow and storage of goods, services, and related information between the point of origin and the point of consumption in order to meet customers’ requirements. This course provides a practical, management perspective of the following areas of logistics: distribution, transportation, international logistics, inventory control, sustainable logistics practices, key performance indicators, supply chain finance, leadership in a supply chain role, and an introduction to logistics technology including RFID and ERP systems. The course is designed for students who have had little or no previous coursework or professional experience in logistics.
