Robotics Workshop

COURSE CODE:CE-[Eng]-[T]-[WS]-40

Course hours: 12 hours

Course Description

This module prepares nutritionists to work with athletes and physically active clients, optimizing nutrition to enhance performance, recovery, and overall health. It aims to provide knowledge for optimizing performance and recovery in athletes and active individuals.

By the end of this 2-day workshop, students will be able to:

  • Build & Code: Assemble a mobile robot chassis and program an Arduino Uno to handle autonomous navigation and basic AI tasks.
  • Connect Hardware: Wire and integrate electronic circuits, sensors (distance/light), and motors using a breadboard.
  • Problem-Solve: Troubleshoot physical wiring errors and code bugs through critical thinking.
  • Work & Present: Collaborate effectively in teams to compete in a robotics challenge and clearly pitch their final design intent.
  • Map Careers: Recognize future academic and professional pathways in STEM, AI, and mechatronics.

This course aims at:

  • Introduce students to the fundamentals of robotics and automation.
  • Develop basic programming and electronics skills.
  • Teach students how to use microcontrollers such as Arduino Uno.
  • Enhance problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Provide hands-on experience in building and programming robotic systems.
  • Improve teamwork, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Encourage creativity and innovation through practical projects.
  • Increase students’ interest in STEM and engineering careers.
  • Familiarize students with sensors, motors, and basic control systems.
  • Prepare students for future technological and engineering challenges.
  • Effectively present and communicate design intent through immersive technology.
