Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course, the participant will be able to:

• Discuss the higher investigating modalities used in maxillofacial radiology, their basic principles, indications and limitations (sialography, tomography, CT, 3D CT, MRI, US and Digital Radiography)
• Illustrate TMJ anatomy, biomechanics.
• Discuss TMJ disorders and their clinical features. List different radiographic techniques used to examine TMJ
• Recall Salivary glands and maxillary sinus anatomy and function,
• List various disorders affecting both Salivary glands and maxillary sinus
• Discuss the various radiographic imaging techniques used in their examination
• Explain guidelines for radiographic assessment of an intended implant site with different traditional and recent imaging modalities
• Interpret different radiographic modalities used to examine TMJ, maxillary sinus and salivary glands
